A prototype data centre rack powered by living human neurons was activated in Singapore by NUS Medicine, DayOne, and Cortical Labs. The 20-unit CL1 rack uses biological computing, aiming for energy-efficient AI processing, though exact power savings are unverified. The neurons require life support systems, consuming significant power, and have a limited operational lifespan of six months.
