AMD is investing $5 billion in Anthropic and deploying 2 gigawatts of Helios GPUs to run Claude

amd will invest up to 5 billion dollars in anthropic and deploy 2 gigawatts of mi450 series gpus in helios racks to run the claude ai model starting in early 2027. anthropic already uses amd gpus and will scale up with new accelerators and cpus. the partnership aims to improve amd's rocm software using claude and diversify anthropic's hardware vendors.
