The Trump administration's proposed immigration policies, including new fees on H-1B visas and Optional Practical Training (OPT), are making it harder for international AI talent to stay in the U.S. This is driving some top graduates, like AI founder Yang Zhilin, to build companies abroad instead. Experts argue that current visa systems don't align with the fast pace of AI innovation, where founders often start companies immediately after or even before completing their Ph.D.s.
