An AI reads an ECG in two seconds and finds what cardiologists cannot

Researchers at Imperial College London developed an AI that analyzes ECGs in under two seconds, detecting heart failure and valve disease signs that clinicians often miss. The AI identified up to 81% of heart failure and 90% of valve disease cases in a trial of 67,000 US patients, aiming to prioritize patients for echocardiograms and reduce diagnostic delays.
