Andrew Ng, co-founder of Google Brain and Coursera, dismissed AI extinction warnings as science fiction and accused the industry of exaggerating risks to gain publicity and influence regulation. He highlighted that the EU AI Act already addresses both engineering and loss-of-control risks, requiring large AI developers to assess these dangers.
