Cheap Android TV Boxes Pose as Phones and Turn Owners’ Broadband Into Proxies

Bitsight uncovered that some inexpensive Android TV boxes from Zhejiang Fengwo IoT use apps to spoof phone identities and click ads, while also turning owners' broadband into proxy exit nodes when HDMI is active. The operation, named Fuyao, manipulates device profiles and employs machine vision to automate ad fraud.
