Volkswagen has begun Level 3 autonomous vehicle road tests in Hefei, China, aiming for readiness by 2027. Meanwhile, Xpeng received approval to operate Level 4 robotaxi services citywide in Guangzhou, initially via invitation codes, with plans to expand and operate driverless by 2027.
