Cloudflare Uses an AI Harness to Probe and Harden its WAF

Cloudflare used advanced AI models in a controlled setup to test and improve its Web Application Firewall by generating and refining attack variations. This process produced over 1,100 test attempts and led to three updates in Cloudflare's Managed Ruleset after human review. The AI operated without access to internal WAF details, making the testing effectively black-box and adaptive based on prior responses.
