Databricks’ cofounder just raised $20M to be the Switzerland of AI compute

SkyPilot, co-founded by Databricks founders and others from UC Berkeley, raised $20M seed funding to develop a neutral AI compute orchestration platform pooling GPUs across 20+ clouds and systems. It aims to solve GPU fragmentation by optimizing workload distribution for cost and efficiency, with an open-source version already widely used. Investors include Lux Capital and industry leaders, betting on SkyPilot's neutrality and scalability in the growing AI compute market.
