Ebola death toll in DR Congo exceeds 5,000 — Health Ministry

The Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has resulted in over 5,000 deaths and more than 10,350 confirmed cases since May 2026, with a fatality rate near 49%. Neighboring Uganda declared its outbreak over in August, while Kenya reported its first case in October.
