Ford CEO Jim Farley announced that the drivetrain in Ford's upcoming low-cost EV platform is about 30% more efficient than BYD's, enabling smaller, cheaper batteries. The new platform will debut in the $28,350 Fathom electric pickup truck launching in late 2027.
