Getty scraps its $3.7bn Shutterstock merger after a UK regulator won’t budge

Getty Images has called off its $3.7 billion merger with Shutterstock after the UK's Competition and Markets Authority required Shutterstock to sell its global editorial business, a condition Getty refused. The deal had been cleared in the US but blocked in the UK, leading Getty's board to unanimously terminate the agreement.
