GitHub and Anthropic used their own agents for major Rust rewrites — with very different playbooks

GitHub rewrote its Copilot agent runtime from TypeScript to Rust using its own AI Copilot coding agents, completing the project in months with a single developer. Anthropic's Bun project similarly used AI to rewrite code in Rust for stability improvements.
