Google and Meta Open-source TorchTPU to Bring Native PyTorch Support to Google TPUs

Google and Meta jointly released TorchTPU, an open-source PyTorch backend for Google TPUs that supports eager and compiled execution with minimal code changes, improving over the previous PyTorch/XLA approach. TorchTPU enables easier migration of PyTorch workloads to TPUs and supports distributed computing with hardware-specific optimizations. Google validated TorchTPU by testing thousands of Hugging Face models across multiple TPU generations.
