The International Federation of Robotics reported about 7,000 humanoid robots were sold globally last year, mostly for industrial and professional services. Despite this modest figure, projections anticipate a sharp increase, especially in China, with estimates of 90,000 units shipped this year and 1.2 million by 2030. Many current humanoids are used for research and data collection rather than productive tasks, with early adoption seen in automotive manufacturing pilots.
