IBM has launched the Quantum Nighthawk r2 processor featuring 120 qubits and a high-speed qubit reset system, enabling execution of over 100,000 circuits per second—25 times faster than its predecessor. It achieves a major 2026 milestone by accurately running circuits with more than 7,500 gates, advancing quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing research.
