Improving Deep Agents with harness engineering

LangChain improved its coding agent's performance on Terminal Bench 2.0 from top 30 to top 5 by optimizing the agent's harness—system prompts, tools, and middleware—while keeping the GPT-5.2-Codex model fixed. They used trace analysis via an Agent Skill to identify errors and iteratively enhance the system.
