(LEAD) S. Korea's monthly exports hit US$115.3 bln in Oct. on strong chip sales

South Korea's exports reached a record $115.3 billion in October 2026, up 93.7% year-on-year, driven mainly by a 259% surge in semiconductor shipments amid strong global AI infrastructure demand. Imports rose 36%, resulting in a $42.5 billion trade surplus.
