Microsoft Research Introduces StudentSim for AI Tutor Training

Microsoft Research unveiled StudentSim, a personalized AI student simulator that models individual learning responses to tutor guidance, alongside StudentSimEval, a benchmark evaluating AI tutors in chess, English writing, and math. The system aims to improve AI tutor training by addressing the challenge of measuring teaching quality through simulated student feedback, with code and research publicly released.
