NHS England's South East region is deploying Skin Analytics' AI system DERM to autonomously assess and discharge patients with benign skin lesions, covering 9 million people and aiming to reduce specialist referrals. DERM, certified as a Class III medical device, has been used in 25 NHS trusts and shows high accuracy comparable to dermatologists. The rollout is expected to free thousands of consultant hours annually by handling up to a third of urgent skin cancer referrals early.
