Okta buys AI security startup Permiso — source says for about $200M

Okta has agreed to acquire AI identity security startup Permiso Security for nearly $200 million in cash, aiming to enhance its capabilities in protecting AI agents and machine identities as enterprises adopt autonomous software. Permiso specializes in detecting suspicious activities and analyzing AI agent behavior to prevent threats in cloud environments. The acquisition is expected to close in Okta's fiscal third quarter of 2027.
