OpenAI is in early-stage talks to acquire Trail of Bits, a cybersecurity firm specializing in auditing and fixing open-source software vulnerabilities. The companies have collaborated since June on a project using OpenAI's GPT-5.5-Cyber model to identify and patch security issues in major open-source projects.
