Over 1,000 still in shelters 3 months after M7.1 quake hit Kumamoto

Three months after a magnitude-7.1 earthquake in Kumamoto Prefecture, over 1,000 people remain in evacuation centers while awaiting temporary housing. The quake caused 38 deaths and damaged more than 82,000 homes. Kumamoto officials released a reconstruction plan addressing housing, infrastructure, and disaster preparedness.
