Qualcomm launches two new smartphone chips with emphasis on AI

Qualcomm introduced two new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 smartphone chips with advanced AI capabilities, including local execution of large AI models and enhanced camera and audio features. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 supports running a 30-billion-parameter mixture-of-experts model locally and offers pro-level video recording. Motorola plans to launch a phone using the Extreme chip later this year.
