ReScale4DL: balancing pixel and contextual information for enhanced bioimage segmentation

Researchers found that downsampling microscopy images up to fourfold can improve or maintain bioimage segmentation accuracy while reducing data storage and processing demands. This challenges the assumption that higher resolution always yields better segmentation results, offering a more efficient approach for microscopy workflows.
