Russia’s Medvedev clears opening stage of 2026 ATP Erste Bank Open

Daniil Medvedev, Russia's top-ranked tennis player competing under a neutral status, won his opening match at the 2026 ATP Erste Bank Open in Vienna and will face Cameron Norrie next. The tournament is an ATP 500 event with $2.7 million in prize money. Russian and Belarusian players compete neutrally following ITF sanctions due to geopolitical tensions.
