Scare campaigns: Victoria’s major parties trade blows over AI-generated videos of leaders in election ads

Victoria's major political parties are using AI-generated videos in their election campaigns, depicting leaders with fabricated statements and scenarios to attack opponents. Labor posted a video falsely showing Liberal leader Jess Wilson warning about costly 'Americanised healthcare,' while Liberals used AI to show Premier Ben Carroll asleep at his desk. The use of AI in political ads has sparked accusations of smear campaigns and misinformation ahead of the election.
