Spotify to distinguish AI artists from real people – and stop recommending them

Spotify will label AI-generated artists as "AI personas" and exclude them from personalized playlist recommendations starting September to protect real musicians from fake AI competitors. The platform will identify AI artists through self-disclosure, human review, and AI tools, aiming to maintain trust and authenticity in music. This move follows Spotify's removal of 75 million spam tracks created by AI in the past year.
