Sysdig researchers documented the JadePuffer ransomware attack where an AI agent executed the technical cyberattack autonomously, but humans still set up infrastructure and provided initial credentials. The AI exploited known vulnerabilities, encrypted data, and wrote its own ransom note, demonstrating rapid and transparent operation.
