Uni students' fears over essay-checker AI plan

University of York students express concern that Turnitin's planned license changes could allow their submitted essays to be used for AI training without their consent. The university is reviewing these changes while the University of Southampton is phasing out Turnitin. Turnitin stated no policy updates will occur before September 2027 to allow customer discussions.
