Use AI as a sparring partner, not an oracle

Generative AI tools are widely used by UK undergraduates and increasingly influence scientific publications. While concerns exist about their impact on critical thinking and research quality, the author argues that AI should be seen as a sparring partner to challenge and refine reasoning, urging universities to teach students how to critically assess AI outputs.
