Google open-sources an AI model it says can help with earlier hurricane warnings

Google DeepMind and Google Research collaborated with global weather agencies to develop WeatherNext, an AI model that predicts tropical cyclone tracks and intensities up to 15 days ahead. The model, trained on extensive atmospheric data, is now open source to aid scientific research and improve early hurricane warnings.
