India's telecom regulator now requires caller-ID and call-management apps to share user spam reports with telecom operators via a blockchain platform, aiming to enhance spam enforcement. Truecaller, a major spam-blocking app with over 350 million users in India, criticizes the rule as anti-competitive, claiming it transfers valuable data to telecom companies. The move comes amid India's massive spam call problem, with billions of spam calls reported and blocked annually.
