Scotland votes for moratorium on new large-scale datacentres for up to a year

Scotland now requires environmental impact assessments for new datacentres over 50MW amid concerns about their environmental and energy impacts. The government stopped short of a full moratorium despite calls from activists and the Scottish Greens.
